This is a great air dry styling tip for curly/wavy-haired goddesses who like a bit of taming... instead of frizzy/messy curl, this trains hair to dry in beach waves.
It works well for shoulder length and longer. The end result will vary according to your hair’s individual texture.
Step 1: Shampoo and condition with Hot Tresses and apply Leave-in to towel-dried hair focusing on the ends. Wrap hair in a cotton hair towel until 50-70% dry. If you don't have the time to air dry, hair dry using a low heat. Be sure to switch to the cooler settings on your blow-dryer.
Step 2: Part your hair when it’s wet. The part will stay better than if you try to do it on dry hair.
For extra body and curls add extra buns – the more buns the more bounce. Our favourite number is three.
Tip 3: Sleep in your buns. Wake and unwrap to have frizz-free, bouncy beach waves. Use your fingers to break up and define curls. Don’t be tempted to brush out buns as it’ll only cause frizz and you’ll lose the lovely twists.
Plaits and braids also work well for longer styles. If you’re not quite ready to give up the ‘tools’, start with switching to the cooler settings on your blow-dryer.
